Sixteen interns have begun a six-week placement with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) under its Summer Internship Programme (SIP).
At a welcoming ceremony at the Treasury Building’s Conference Centre, APUA CEO John Bradshaw, CFO Roger Tonge, and other senior officials greeted the interns and underscored the programme’s importance.

SIP Chairman Lyle Jackson praised the interns for rising above hundreds of applicants to join what he described as one of the Caribbean’s most sought-after internships.
He said the programme, established in 2012, has shaped lives and careers while reflecting APUA’s broader commitment to national development.
“It’s not just about utilities — it’s about investing in our people,” Jackson said, describing the internship as a launchpad for professional and personal growth.
The interns will be assigned across various departments during the programme, which continues to evolve as a key pillar in APUA’s human capital development strategy.
