The Minister responsible for National Security, the Hon. Sir Steadroy Benjamin, informed Cabinet that the Canine Unit of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is now fully staffed with six dogs currently undergoing specialized training.
These dogs are being prepared for drug detection, human trafficking interdiction, and the identification of illegal firearms and ammunition, significantly strengthening the Force’s capacity to combat organized crime.
Cabinet was further advised that the police have recorded a general decline in crime across the country.

We need a replay of the You For A Day episode with Ibis when he went to train with these K9 dogs🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Hopefully the dogs will be treated well and with the respect they deserve, that all animals deserve.
Oh shut up!!! Dogs are NOT humans. It is HUMANS that should give and receive respect. Go to California and get your own little poodle in a bag. We are not on that bullshit behaviour in the Caribbean.
Great to see the police getting more specialized tools. Dogs can make a real difference in detecting drugs and weapons.
It’s encouraging to hear that overall crime is declining, but we definitely need stricter road safety enforcement.
Specialized dogs for drugs and weapon detection! What about the human factor? They need training also.
Do they have the capacity to house more dogs? I hope they considered the budget to purchase food for the dogs and regular health checks. They cannot advocate like humans for better working conditions and pay.
Happy to hear of the upgrades.
I hope they train them to bark in dilect. Lol
