National Hero and Former Prime Minister Sir Lester Bryant Bird continues his recovery at home following lower-leg amputation surgery on April 20.
His daughter, Donyelle has confirmed the news to state media, indicating Sir Lester was discharged from hospital last Wednesday.
In addition to the support from herself and her sibling, Donyelle Bird says her father receives professional nursing care around the clock.
She says he is in good spirits and the family is heartened by the progress as he continues to adjust to the post-operative situation while receiving excellent care management.
Meanwhile, all is in place for the renaming of the Mount St John’s Medical Centre on Tuesday of this week in Sir Lester’s honour.
Donyelle Bird says she will be attending the ceremony on her father’s behalf, but he will be watching on Television.
