Chet Lewis, the 33-year-old Briggins man who survived a brutal shooting outside his home on August 21, has made a remarkable recovery.
After being transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC), Lewis underwent emergency surgery and required a breathing tube.
However, as days passed, his condition significantly improved, leading to the removal of the tube and his eventual release from the hospital.
Despite Lewis’s positive progress, questions remain regarding the motive behind the attack and the identity of the perpetrator, as no arrests have been made yet.
Police continue to appeal to the public for information related to the incident. In a separate incident, a 58-year-old Bendals resident sustained gunshot wounds to his shoulder in a late-night incident in Yeptons.
The victim is now in stable condition, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.Investigations are ongoing in both cases.
