Seven Homes Repainted in Swetes Under Community Initiative

Seven homes in Swetes received fresh coats of paint this week under a community-led initiative aimed at improving living conditions and restoring pride among residents.

Organisers said the project grew out of an earlier effort to build a home for Arlene Wilson and expanded after residents responded with strong support and encouragement. The group then decided to give back by improving additional homes in the village.

Carefully selected colours were used to brighten the residences, with paint and supplies provided through the support of Rawdon Turner, Mary Baltimore and Lamin Newton. The work was carried out by the A Team from His Majesty’s Prison, whose workmanship was credited for the quality of the finished homes.

The initiative was coordinated under the Home Advancement Programme for the Poor and Indigent (HAPI), which said the project highlighted the impact of community cooperation. Organisers said similar work will continue in other villages across Antigua and Barbuda.
