
Serbia and the Republic of Cuba Offer Full Scholarships to Antigua and Barbuda Students for 2025/2026 Academic Year
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – July 7, 2025 – The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is pleased to announce the availability of fully-funded scholarships offered by the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Cuba for qualified students from Antigua and Barbuda as part of its prestigious “The World in Serbia” programme and the Annual Cuba Medical Programme.
The scholarships are available for the 2025/2026 academic year for a Serbian language course and for 2026/2027 for undergraduate or graduate academic study in Serbia.
This initiative is made possible through continued cooperation between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Washington D.C.
The offered scholarships include:
- A temporary residence visa
- Free validation of high school or university documents
- Tuition-free Serbian language courses (both online and intensive in-person)
- Full accommodation and meals in student dormitories
- Health insurance
- A monthly stipend of 18,000 Serbian dinars
- Access to selected university programs across various faculties in Serbia
Interested candidates must:
- Complete the application form, specifying their preferred and alternate faculties
- Submit a medical examination form
- Review the list of participating faculties and relevant documentation instructions

In addition, all original documents, along with the signed application and medical certificate, must be sent to the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Committee- Office of the Prime Minister on or before July 11, 2025.
For the Cuban Programme, Scholarships are offered in the following disciplines:
- 8 Medical Scholarships
- 1 Scholarship in Dentistry
- 1 in Health Technologies (Anesthesia, Traumatology, Water Rescue, and Thanatology)
- 6 in Bachelor of Health Technologies (Optics and Optometry, Speech Therapy, Medical Imaging)
- 5 Specializations for Cuban-trained doctors
- 2 Additional Scholarships in Agricultural Engineering (BSc) and Mathematics Education (BA)
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of seven (7) CSEC passes (Grades 1, 2, or 3), including:
- Mathematics
- English A
- Biology
- Chemistry
- CAPE passes in Biology and Chemistry
- Spanish proficiency will be considered an asset
