REGISTRATION OF PENSIONERS TO PDVCAB’S SENIOR CITIZENS UTILITY SUBSIDY PROGRAMME
April 28, 2025.
In March 2008, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda in collaboration with PDV Caribe Antigua and Barbuda Limited (PDVCAB) launched the Senior Citizens Utility Subsidy Programme (SCUSP). Registration is conducted twice per year in May and November. This programme is open to all Social Security pensioners and demonstrates the Government’s commitment to supporting senior citizens who have played significant roles in nation building. Currently there are 6,642 beneficiaries on this programme; 146 of which are in Barbuda. Funding for the SCUSP is provided through the PetroCaribe Initiative and is administered and monitored by PDVCAB. Under this initiative, senior citizens receive vouchers valued at $1,200 annually towards their APUA utility bills.

I just helped my grandmother fill out her form this morning. She was so relieved to hear the programme is back.
My mom lives on her pension alone, so this little extra help really eases her mind every month.
These programmes mean a lot. I’ve seen firsthand how my grandmother worries less about her bills now.
I’m just happy to see something positive being done for our seniors for once.
