Senator Eustace Teco Lake has been asked to make a charitable donation after senate president Alincia Williams-Grant accused him of taking a cell phone call while the house was in session.
“Senator Lake you surely not taking a call in the hall,” the president said, interrupting debate on the Citizenship by Investment Programme amendment.
“We have to remember the place that we are and the standard that we ought to be setting. I actually think that we should use the opportunity to institute a programme whereby persons who breach the standards that are expected, especially in relation to the use of the cellphones, will start making contributions to their favorite charity,” Williams Grant said.
She the programme would start with Lake who is also expected to report to the house at the next sitting which charity he donated to.
The leader of government business in the Senate Mary Clare Hurst urged members who want to answer their phone to “go outside.”

Ohhh I thought it was Sen. Aziza Lake. Thanks for clarifying ANR. The camera did not pan.
AA Perhaps? Sounds like a good charity.
A politician’s favorite charity is his bank account. He will be donating to himself.
