Senator Philip Shoul Elected Vice President of the Senate

Senator The Honorable Philip Shoul has been elected as the Vice President of the Senate, following a nomination process during today’s Senate session.

The election was necessitated by the departure of the previous Vice President, Senator Rawdon Turner, who vacated the position due to involvement in the recent by-elections which saw him being elected to the Lower House.

During the proceedings, Senator Shenella Govia put forward Shoul’s name for the position, stating, “I wish to nominate Senator The Honorable Philip Shoul to serve as Vice President.” The motion was subsequently seconded and approved without contest.

Following his election, the Senate President Alincia Williams- Grant congratulated he Honorable Philip Shoul, noting that his new role would provide him with a deeper understanding of administrative and procedural matters within the chamber.

“You’ll now be able to see from the administrative side and the procedural side just how the standing orders ought to operate,” the Senate President remarked.

Shoul is now set to assist in the legislative process, stepping in when necessary to preside over Senate sessions.

  1. Phillip Shoul is a good and decent man. He is always well researched both on the radio and in the Senate. He never seems to speak without the facts. I am not sure how popular that makes him as we are a people who love ugly and mellee.
Keep on raising the standard of debate and discourse.

  2. I am not prejudice. However the Hon.Gaston Browne has made it clear that he doesn’t want any old people in his government. So is it black picky head people that are not eligible?
I said I am not prejudice to race, ethnicity or age. In fact I personally prefer the diversity, a mixture of youth and aged at all levels.
