GIS ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA: SENATOR NEWTON EXPRESSES SATISFACTION WITH PROGESSS OF FFRYES BEACH REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT

Government Senator Hon. Lamin Newton has commended the management and staff of the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) for efforts thus far towards the operationalization of the Ffryes Beach Reverse Osmosis Plant.

The plant located in the southern part of Antigua is set to become functional by the end of this month and will produce one million gallons of water daily.

Sen. Newton visited the plant on Monday, January 20, 2025 and received a first-hand view of the progress of work thus far. According to Sen Newton he is “encouraged and excited for the Ffryes Beach Reverse Osmosis Plant to become operational, as it will directly benefit the people of All Saints East and St. Luke. This will mean a more reliable and efficient water supply that will positively impact their daily lives.”

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has made substantial investments in water production in an effort to meet the growing demand for water.

The Ffryes Beach Reverse Osmosis Plant is at a cost of US$2.5million and is part of an overall investment of nearly US$40million that will ensure increased production and delivery of water across the country.

  1. It’s won̈derful to see action and progress being made. And the progress is permanent too. In the words of my heroe Maurice Bishop “Forwarded Ever;Backward Never” under our current Comrade Leader and his team.

  2. Please explain how this is going to benefit the people of All Saints East. I am sure this will not impact Jonas road, McPond , Mathew’s road , Roman Hill, Sweets village and John Hughes. This means that the only areas of All Saints Constituency that this can impact is OlD road. This simply shows that Old road should be cut off from All Saints East and placed with St. Mary’s. There is no commonality between Old road and the rest of the constituency- not even a reverse osmosis plant.

  3. His body posture shows he don’t know what the hell he is looking at, after becoming a senator he become a plumbing engineer, I guess he is looking at the pretty color of pipes.
