Senator Knacynta Nedd Challenges Barbuda Council on Loui Hill Development and Calls for Truth-Based Advocacy

4

Senator Knacynta Nedd Charles said: Barbudans one thing i must say for sure, our strength is amazing, heart.

However It breaks my heart to see the level of deception that was exhibited today. “If you guard yourself with the truth and the facts, nobody NABADY,can take that from you”

Fight for your island/country yes, but arm yourself with the truth and the facts first and then fight! But fight for your advancement. Btw what was the “fight” about today again? Because……

FACT: This same Loui Hill Development Project was first developed in 2007 under a BPM led council. Mr. Randolph Beazer was the chairman at the time, and Chad Knight-Alexander was contracted by the Council to work on the design. The development plans were later elevated and modernized by the now ABLP Government to include more residential homes, a primary school and a cultural center.

I honestly thought we learnt our lesson from the golf course saga that took place years ago, or some of us conveniently forgot about that? What if PLH had relented? What would become of the job positions that some of you hold now at the golf course?

So now that all the shouting and showmanship is done. What now? How sure are we that the Barbuda Council was not informed of the present administrations development plans for the Loui Hill area? The Council met with the Cabinet on the 10th of October 2024 (we all saw them in their Sunday best on headline ABS news) is it that they had no issues with the plans? And if they did why didn’t they say so then?

ANOTHER FACT: Mr. Devon Warner (my friend), we both sit on a committee that was mandated by the Cabinet (The Steve Morgan Foundation Fund) Committee, that has made available USD$1 million for the construction of hurricane resillient homes for Barbudans TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN THE LOUI HILL AREA, All Home will be of NO COST to Barbudans that qualify. We convened a very fruitful meeting on Thursday 23rd January 2025 (jus yes-si-deh), and you said absolutely nothing in that meeting about not supporting this project in the Loui Hill area. I guess the dramatics and objections only count if the cameras are rolling.

One thing for sure the Government will not be daunted by shouting and unlawful behavior. So if we truly want our voices to be heard on matters pertaining to Barbuda’s Development, this is not the way. And if you plan to come at me for this post, know that you will be answered with the same energy. If you ask a sensible question or bring a sensible point I will respectfully respond.

  2. Arthur Nibbs’ clone is now adding her voice. She is prepared to sell her soul let alone her country for recognition and acceptance by the cabal. Stand up, stand up for something. Ye Barbudans I say.

  3. Devon Warner is just one member of the Barbuda council so please don’t broad brush the body of council that had no knowledge of this.
