Senator Kiz Johnson says “progress starts with opportunity” as she unveiled a series of initiatives designed to expand access to skills training and higher education for residents of St Philip’s South.

In a video statement, the senator confirmed that five residents will receive scholarships for a 10-week certificate course at the Lifelong Learning Unit of the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus. She said the programme marks the first step in a sustained effort to broaden personal and professional development options within the constituency.

Johnson also announced new partnerships with accredited academic institutions in the United Kingdom, creating additional pathways for residents to pursue affordable online bachelor’s and master’s degrees across a range of fields.

She encouraged the public to “stay tuned for application details” via her official platforms, adding that the initiative forms part of her commitment to advancing the community “the bold way forward.”
