Families in St Mary’s South have received a timely boost ahead of the new academic term, thanks to a Back-to-School Drive led by Senator Dwayne George and the constituency’s branch organisation.
The initiative, held in preparation for the reopening of schools on Monday, 8 September, provided students with essential supplies including backpacks, exercise books, pencils, pens, rulers, erasers and glue sticks.
Organisers said the effort aimed to ease the financial strain on parents while ensuring children are properly equipped for the classroom.
“This drive reflects Senator George’s and the Branch’s commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of St Mary’s South,” a statement read.
Community members described the event as an important reminder of the value of care and collective responsibility in preparing young people for success.

These politicians always showing a false sense of caring until they get a seat in officially representing the constituency in parliament. Then the caring act disappears for the nextfour and a half years. It reappears again. Time to stop making a mockery of the citizens of Antigua and Barbuda and begin to show genuine concerns for our well-being.
