By Charisa Hazlewood -Community of Seatons Unites for Major Village Cleanup Overlooking the Seaside
The village of Seatons came alive on Tuesday 9th December 2025 in the morning as dozens of residents gathered for a large-scale community cleanup initiative aimed at restoring and beautifying the coastal overlook. What began as a scheduled 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. effort extended well into the afternoon, with many volunteers remaining on site until after 2 p.m. to ensure the project was completed with excellence.
The cleanup saw an outstanding turnout of community members, neighbours, and supporters who all worked side by side. Their dedication demonstrated a powerful sense of unity, pride, and shared responsibility for the environment and the future of the Seatons community.
A major highlight of the day was the support received through the assistance of Chappa, who provided an excavator to help remove heavy overgrowth and debris. This contribution significantly accelerated progress and made it possible for the team to clear areas that would have otherwise taken days to complete manually.
Gratitude is also extended to Mrs. Ruth Nicholas-James, Mrs. Charmaine Butler, and Ms. Leah Samuel, who ensured that volunteers were supported throughout the morning, providing breakfast and refreshments for everyone who participated.
Special thanks are also given to the few members of the Seaglans SDA Church who came out and offered a helping hand. Their willingness to join in and contribute added even more strength to the day’s efforts.
The cleanup not only restored the village’s scenic overlook but also strengthened community bonds. The event proved that when individuals unite for a common purpose, remarkable things can be achieved.
The residents of Seatons extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out, contributed, and supported this meaningful venture. The spirit displayed during the cleanup serves as a reminder of what true community looks like, working together, uplifting each other, and taking pride in the place we call home.
