Philippe Daniel Jules

Authorities have officially ended the search for boat captain Philippe Daniel Jules, who went missing after reportedly falling overboard while sailing from Antigua to Dominica on Tuesday night.

Jules was at the helm of the vessel when the incident occurred around 11 p.m. Reports indicate he lost his balance after ducking to avoid a swinging sail during strong winds. Despite immediate rescue efforts by those on board, he disappeared beneath the waves.

The vessel was diverted to Guadeloupe, where it remains docked as authorities carried out search-and-rescue operations across nearby waters. After several days of aerial and marine searches, officials have now confirmed that the effort to locate Jules has been suspended.

Authorities expressed disappointment that he had not been found despite extensive operations and favorable weather conditions during the initial stages of the search.

  1. This is sad. It kinda still don’t make sense to me but I wasn’t there so I cannot judge. I hope for the best that he was a strong swimmer and he’s somewhere on a shore waiting to be found
