Scrub Life Cares “Back to School Menstrual Pantry Restock” Supporting Students as They Return to the Classroom

Scrub Life Cares recently called on the community to take part in its Back to School Menstrual Pantry Restock, an effort aimed at ensuring girls and women have consistent access to essential menstrual and hygiene products as they head back to school.

The collection drive, which runs through September 15, focuses on replenishing the organization’s pantry with much-needed supplies, including menstrual pads, panty liners, soap, wipes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, and conditioner.

“All donated products will go directly toward helping those in the community we serve,” said Tanya Ambrose, MPH, Founder of Scrub Life Cares. “By restocking our pantry, we are removing barriers to dignity, health, and education, making sure no girl misses out on opportunities because of a lack of access to basic supplies.”

Community members have been encouraged to contribute in two ways:

Ambrose noted that every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a tangible difference in the lives of students and families who rely on the pantry. A little will go a long way.

Scrub Life Cares continues its year-round mission of promoting menstrual equity, reproductive and sexual health, and dignity for all. The pantry restock is one of several initiatives designed to help young people begin the school year with confidence and care.
