Schools Closed Today Due to Tropical Storm Philippe’s Impact

1

The Education Minister, Daryl Mathew, has announced that all schools in Antigua and Barbuda will remain closed today.

This decision comes in response to the severe flooding caused by Tropical Storm Philippe, which has affected numerous school buildings.

Mathew emphasized that the Ministry of Education will assess the extent of the damage once the MET office declares the all-clear. At this point, it is challenging to determine the full scope of the destruction.

In the interest of safety, both parents and students are advised to prioritize their well-being during this challenging time.
