School For Special Needs School Children Broken Into

The principal of the Victory Center Kelly Hedges said the special needs school will have to invest in security after the thieves broke in the Nugent Avenue institution over the Easter Vacation.

“Some of the items that were taken include like out transformers, so right now we can’t use our fridge, our printer, or some of our things”, Hedges explained.

She told state media the vandals also made off with “microphones, our sound systems, speakers, different items like that”.

The Principal said it has been difficult raising money for the non-profit organization, which caters to disadvantaged youth.

“So, when we get donations, or we’ve raised the money to purchase things that will help our students and then to come in and see that somebody has taken it is just heartbreaking”, she lamented.
