The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Government of Saint Lucia (GOSLU) have signed a USD 7.6 million agreement to fund the Saint Lucia Youth Economy Project, benefiting over 3,000 young entrepreneurs.

The initiative aims to enhance youth participation in inclusive, gender-responsive businesses.

Six hundred youths will receive business training, while 120 will receive mentoring and financing.

This project covers various sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, retail, and the blue, green, and orange economies.

CDB’s Vice President, Isaac Solomon, highlighted the project’s role in reducing youth unemployment and promoting social resilience.

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre emphasized its potential to stimulate innovation and sustainable livelihoods in Saint Lucia.

This partnership strengthens CDB’s support for the country.
