SOURCE: channel5belize.- The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of Saint Kitts and Nevis has charged Crown Counsel Prosecutor Shantrice Dorset with serious offences related to the murder of 29-year-old Akeem Archibald.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force reported that Archibald, a resident from Conaree Village, was riding his motorcycle near his home at 9:39 p.m. when a gunman shot him.

Archibald was fatally shot on July 20, 2024, and the main suspect was identified as Khyron Philip. Dorset is accused of assisting Philip in fleeing the country to avoid justice. She faces multiple charges, including being an ‘Accessory After the Fact to Murder,’ ‘Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice,’ ‘Misconduct in Public Office,’ and ‘Corruption.’

She is accused of using her position to influence the surrender of the firearm used in the murder under an amnesty program, as well as misconduct and corruption.

This is the first time in the country’s history that a current attorney and Crown Counsel has been arrested and charged with such serious offences.

Saint Kitts and Nevis’s DPP stressed that Dorset is presumed innocent until proven guilty and warned against speculation that could harm the investigation or trial. Dorset was denied bail and is currently in custody at His Majesty’s Prison while the case progresses.

  1. Dear Born & Bred Antiguan, just for once , do a little research before spewing lies and innuendos to the public which, alarmingly, seem always willing to hear nonsense and just spread it. No wonder the UPP is still afloat, albeit barely.

  2. WHAT THE HELL…? …PUBLIC OFFICIALS ON THE LOOSE: …DPP ADLAI SMITH ON THE ‘…GRAB AND NAB.’

Clearly, ‘SKN’ Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), ‘ADLAI SMITH,’ had been ‘…ON THE GRAB AND NAB’ of ‘NON-COMPLIANT PUBLIC OFFICIALS:

    WELL:

None may dictate for any ‘DPP,’ and particularly, ‘…DPP ADLAI SMITH.’

But it speaks to ‘…SHEER HYPOCRISY,’ when a ‘…DPP’s PRESS STATEMENT’ use the words ‘…OFFICE OF DPP REGRETS,’ yet ‘…CRIMINALIZED ONE OF HIS OWN CROWN COUNSELS.’

    ***

While not suggesting, nor ‘…CONDONING’ the ‘…ALLEGED ACTS,’ the same ‘…OBJECTIVE’ may have been achieved, referring ‘…CONDUCT’ as reported to the ‘…JUDICIAL AND LEGAL SERVICES COMMISSION (JLSC),’ for ‘…DISCIPLINARY CONSIDERATIONS.’

CERTAIN CONCERNS HAVE BEEN RAISED BY ‘…SOME LEGAL PRACTITIONERS: AND SOME ‘…LEGAL LUMINARIES:

PESSIMISTICALLY, NONE SAW: ‘…JOY BELLS RINGING FOR ANY DPP,’ THAT SETS OUT TO ‘…GRAB AND NAB,’ IN THE MANNER SOME HAVE CHOSEN.

    QUESTION:

    IS THERE ANOTHER ‘…REGIONAL CLONE?’

  3. THIS DPP APPLIED FOR THE JOB IN ANTIGUA AND HIS APPLICATION WASN’T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE. POLITICIANS IN ANTIGUA DO NOT WORK WELL WITH SERIOUS PEOPLE, PEOPLE WHO STRICKLY ENFORCE THE LAW. THAT IS WHY A LOCAL ANTIGUAN WAS OVERLOOKED FOR AN INDIAN.

  4. @Dion Pelle. That is why we got police officers from St. Vincent back in the day. Cannot have officers from the same people whom they are suppose to serve…what if one of those folks is his family? Same goes for the DPP. Should not have no allegiance to anyone. Only to the law. So being a foreigner removes all hat temptation.

So Dion, please remove your poliTRICKing from this discourse.

  5. It’s better they use born and bred antiguans for police and dpp because it’s a Vincentian police that was selling our passports and an Jamaican dpp that was arrested in his country for fraud, and also our AG is not an honest man remember he signed passport forms claiming he knew the individual

  6. I wonder if Adali was the DPP in antigua he would have had the courage to ask the police to investigate and charge the corrupt politicians. Some who were bouncing check all over the place and now flaunting their wealth
