
Sailor Shanoy Malone has been named Junior Sportsman of the Year 2025 at the Antigua and Barbuda National Sports Awards.
The award was presented by Daryll S. Matthew, minister of education, sports and creative industries, and recognizes emerging athletes who are shaping the future of sport in Antigua and Barbuda.
Malone delivered a dominant season in sailing, winning 13 of 15 races at the Caribbean Dinghy Championships and captaining Antigua and Barbuda to overall team success. His year also included international podium finishes and qualification for the Junior Pan American Games.
Officials said Malone’s discipline and competitive performances position him among the country’s most promising young athletes.
As part of the award, Malone received a two-year scholarship from the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus to support his academic and athletic development.
The National Sports Awards honor athletes, coaches and officials whose achievements have strengthened the nation’s sporting profile locally and internationally.
