Local cultural group RT Performers says it has received three of four outstanding payments for performances at national events held more than six months ago.
Group leader Renee Thomas said members had been left “frustrated and demoralised” by the delay, despite repeated appeals to officials.
Following media attention, Thomas confirmed that most of the funds had now been paid, with one final payment expected soon.
Known for their vibrant portrayals of Antiguan and Caribbean traditions, RT Performers have been regular contributors to national celebrations, including Independence and Carnival events.
Thomas said the issue highlighted broader concerns about how the creative sector is valued and supported.

Why do people have to go public to shame Festivals into paying?
So the people had to go to the media to get attention. Nah man
The arts keep our culture alive. Fair compensation should never be delayed.
Finally some relief for the performers, they’ve waited far too long for what they’ve earned.
Happy for them plz tell them the parade marshall waiting for there pay as well hope it’s not another two year before we get it
