  1. ” Quid pro quo ”

These people do not do anything for free.

The Italians, the Russians and the Chinese do not do anything for free…they are the ones who invented the Mod system.

We as Caribbean people are very jovial and nice people. Stop letting these people from a far, corrupt US with their dirty practices.

Stop taking stuff from them, buy it for yourself GB. After all, you claim that we are an economic powerhouse.

    • I would prefer partnership with china and Russia over imperialist like US and EU since they provide way less predictor deals and more lenient and does not try to control the politics of a country. Yes China isn’t doing it for free they expect us to see them in a more flavorful light when we have to choose US or China like today but they don’t control us like US government would.

I prefer us to be economically independent and build with local money only but with foreign loans and relation China is nation that uses persuasion over might which makes them a favourful partner in my eyes but obvious not every Chinese business is like that things that exploitative but that just needs government control since it’s private business that does that and not a CCP act, which they also deal with on the mainland.

The reason why African countries side with China and Russia even with the talk of “debt trap” is because China has never sponsored coups to take control of the government they have never sponsored terrorist to cause chaos, they side with China willing because it’s better deals. They never talk about real debt trap like IMF and private countries owning their resources which exports raw material and then having to buy back the finished product because they don’t have refinery to finish the materials they produce themself.

  2. Good move! Crime is getting more sophisticated, so our law enforcement must be equipped to match it.

  3. Technology alone won’t solve crime, but it’s a step in the right direction. Training and accountability must follow.

    • by “Training” I hope you also mean Parents TRAINING their children right. That is the crux of the matter!

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
      “Thou shalt not steal”
      “Thou shalt not kill”
      “Thou shalt not covet”
      “Love thy neighbour as thyself”

  4. Partnerships like this show the value of international friendships. China continues to stand with Antigua and Barbuda.

  5. It takes more than technology to stamp out the current growth in crime right here right now in Antigua. What’s required are daytime boots on the ground and night-time police patrols.

Gaston Browne can you hear our heartfelt pleas whilst you and your ilk/family are living in your gilded cages?

Sometimes one wonders if a conceited COXCOMB and POPINJAY like yourself really cares about our security and welfare.

Remember our eyes and ears do not deceive us

  6. The electronic equipment that was donated may have monitoring software attached unbeknownst to the users, as the previous commenter stated; nothing is truly free from these countries. I would have much rather they donated funds to go towards purchasing electronic equipment rather than having it given to us by a foreign entity for our local police force
