Royal Caribbean’s $100 million beach club at Fort James in Antigua and Barbuda is set to boost tourism, primarily serving their cruise passengers from morning till afternoon.
Originally estimated at $75-$100 million, construction costs have risen due to material inflation. Construction will commence in 2024 after finalizing discussions in Q4 of this year.
Despite this development, the beach will remain open to the public, with more visitors expected due to increased homeporting and the arrival of Oasis-class ships.

Antiguans do your research, don’t allow this to happen. Don’t be swayed by the construction cost. Most of the amenities will be imported , not much buildings will be erected besides restrooms and eating or lunge areas and serving areas. If anyone has cruised before to a private island speak out what you observe. The beach will not be open to the public when the ship dock, ita security risk for passengers personal belongings. Max Fernandez stop this madness , bring an offer where everyone in the cruise industry will benefit. Anyone employed will only be paid on the day the boat arrives and many of the employees off the ship will come to shore to serve etc .
Can’t 100 Antiguans and Barbudans, put up $1 million and invest in something like this?
I would.
Good luck.
If you want to take a government to the cleaners come to Antigua. Just ask Uncle Allen, or ask Quarter Master General Maurice or Captain Mike or Godfather Dato
I not believing this until the last nail is hammered in to complete the project
It is announcements like these, never ending projects by this administration promising elusive millions, like YIDA, that triggers ECLAC’s unreliable 9 5% delilusionary growth.
Barring PLH, who by the way reports allege, is in a spot of bother, prompting LieNoHell Hurst to say their lies are biting them in the a$$ in court, what has this dunce finance minister done?
Please.
Always have some kind of investor then next thing you hear they gone jail. We don’t need anymore hotels. What the government need to do is focis on our water and electricity issues, focus on the historical sights that needs refurbishing, focus on the roads that need fixing. Tourism is our main industry but what do we really have to offer? Look on the damn pineapple field owned by the government can’t say farm really. Wll we do in Antigua is talk. More bark than bite. It’s time we fight for our rights. Soon we won’t have any beaches to call our own. Soon we may not even have a country to call our own cause we keep selling out. The Local ppl with money won’t spend because we don’t take care of anything so everybody need to come together as one and do our part.
