SOURCE -REAL NEWS: Several people have found themselves in the proverbial hot water coming out
of routine mobile patrols by the Police.

During the exercises, a Cedar Grove man was arrested on suspicion of
robbery; a Villa man was arrested on suspicion of house break-in and larceny;
and a Willikies resident was arrested for threatening language.

They were all
transported to the St. John’s Police Station pending further investigations.

Reports say that lawmen, including officers from the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID), conducted patrols in the district of St. John’s and its
outskirts earlier this week.

Stops were made in Villa, The Point, Yorks, St.
John’s City, Grays Farm, Bendals, Bathlodge, Creekside, Golden Grove, Clare
Hall, and Marble Hill.

Other areas, including Weatherills, Cedar Grove, Langfords, Friars Hill Road,
and Browne’s Avenue also saw heightened police presence.

Generally, these patrols were conducted between 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
The Police are reportedly increasing such activities to avert criminal activity,
which has increased significantly over the past year, prompting fearful
residents to call for more officers on the roadways.

  1. I pray our officers are fully protected when going out on these patrols.
The level of sophistication that is being shown by criminals these days is alarming.

  2. I can tell everybody right now that the Police Officers are fed-up. They operate with minimum manpower and resources, work their butts off to investigate and arrest and the court gives paltry fines and the criminals are back on the streets within 24 hours. The officers are right now very upset at the acting DPP who advised that the man found with the 14 year old be charged with rape rather than statutory rape which should have been automatic. He will get off on the rape as the young girl will simply say he did not rape her. But at 14 that is automatic statutory rape regardless of what she says.

  3. Excellent, police must profile these guys in hoodie, stop them and search and photograph them, regardless of the out cry, that will give police better description for future investigation link to CCTV surveillance camera for comparison, and it will drive psychological fear in would be criminals that they are already suspected by the police.

  4. I hope the police will continue there potrolls indefinitely. Not just to clean up the streets for SIDS then go back to same old practices. The people of Antigua need protection 24/7.
