The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown (RCAS) officially ushered in the 2025–2026 Rotary year with its annual Handover Event, held on Sunday, July 6th at Brew.

This year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” reflects Rotary’s global mission of fostering unity, fellowship, and impactful service.

The event celebrated the achievements of outgoing President Khari Lewis and his board, whose dedication to service inspired the club throughout a challenging year.

Reflecting on his term, Khari shared:

“Though a challenging year, Rotarians’ strength and resilience continued to inspire positive societal changes. My experiences as president instilled lessons in humility, honesty, integrity, and collaboration. Best wishes to the new president and the Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown for the 2025–2026 term. Remember: ‘Service Above Self. ”

Incoming President Nicole Stevens took the reins with a heartfelt and motivating address, promising to focus on strengthening the club’s sense of family and purpose.

“This year, my focus is simple but powerful: fellowship, support, togetherness, and family.

You will see more opportunities to connect, serve side by side, laugh together, and build the bonds that make our club not just strong, but truly special.

Let us remember that our greatest strength lies in our unity — in working together with purpose, compassion, and shared vision to create lasting change in our community and beyond.”

The evening also recognised outstanding members for their exceptional dedication and service:

  • Past President Dr. Jenelle Allen – Malcolm Edwards Rotarian of the Year Award
  • Atoni McCoy – Kendrickson Kentish Rising Star of the Year Award

Newly appointed Assistant Governor Jonah Ormond inspired the audience with his message of resilience and impact:
“In such uncertain times, ‘Uniting for Good’, in outcome and fellowship, may seem like a given, but the effort required should not be underestimated and neither should the impact.”

The club also highlighted its achievements for 2024–2025, including initiatives such as Friday Night Limes, the Autism WalkPediatric Village, infrastructural improvements like the Guard House painting, and the installation of peace poles.

Special thanks were extended to the club’s valued sponsors: ACB Caribbean, Frank B. Armstrong, IPL, Boundary Bites by Twos, Antigua Dairy Industries Ltd., ANJO, Shell Beach Bar, Nigel Francis (Takumedia), Kayinks, and Flava FM.

The 2025–2026 Board was announced as follows:

  1. So the event happened SINCE on July 6th and it took them almost 2 whole weeks to write a press release. That’s what you call stale news indeed cause after I saw when it happened I stopped reading

  2. I am assuming this is the inferior Rotary Club – because who are those people? Are they even from Antigua?
