St. John’s, Antigua –September 21st 2025………The Rotary Club of Antigua on Saturday hosted its first-ever Glow Walk, held in commemoration of Caribbean Wellness Day, which was officially recognized on September 13, 2025.
Although the original date was affected by inclement weather, the event was rescheduled and enthusiastically embraced by the community.
The Glow Walk, a vibrant, family-friendly evening event, brought together Rotarians, health advocates, and members of the public in a display of unity and wellness.
Participants adorned in glow-in-the-dark gear and white apparel, took to the streets to promote the importance of physical activity, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle choices.

President of the Rotary Club of Antigua, Elisa Graham, thanked everyone for supporting the event and underscored the importance of embracing healthy lifestyle practices to combat non-communicable diseases.
“In our society, there is rising concern about non-communicable diseases to include diabetes and hypertension. We need to collectively commit to stay active, and keep wellness at the center of our lives. This walk is a step in that direction. Every stride you take today is a promise to yourself—to live longer, to live stronger, and to live better. And by doing it together, we’re encouraging each other and setting an example for our families and communities”, she expressed.
Caribbean Wellness Day, celebrated annually on the second Saturday in September, was established by CARICOM to raise awareness of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and to promote preventative measures across the region.
This year, the Rotary Club of Antigua aligned its efforts with this regional initiative to highlight the role of community and movement in maintaining good health.
The Glow Walk is part of the Club’s broader focus on health and wellness under Rotary’s Area of Focus: Disease Prevention and Treatment.
Participants walked a designated route through St. John’s and received refreshments sponsored by Go To Enterprise.
The Rotary Club extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event.
Plans are already underway to make the Glow Walk an annual event, further cementing the Rotary Club of Antigua’s commitment to building healthier communities.
