The winners in the four main age category and special prizes were announced and distributed respectively in a closing ceremony which took place at Rotary House on Thursday 5th March 2026. The competition invited young artists to visually interpret the theme of peace, unity, and global harmony.
The initiative forms part of the Club’s commitment through the Rotary Foundation, to promoting peace, one of Rotary International’s core areas of focus, while encouraging creativity among the nation’s youth.
Mr. Alvin Livingstone spoke on behalf of the judges and gave an overview of the competition, while congratulating the participants on the high standard of submissions and commended all participants for their thoughtful and inspiring interpretations. He emphasized that each winning piece was selected for its artistic merit, originality, and powerful depiction of peace in action.
In her remarks, President of the Rotary Club of Antigua, Mrs. Elisa Graham commended the Foundation Director, Past President Evangeline Allen and the members of the Foundation Committee, for the hard work, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that the undertaking was a success.
“From a Rotary International standpoint, peacebuilding and conflict resolution are central to who we are. Rotary recognizes peace as one of its core areas of focus. Through service projects, youth engagement, educational programs, and community partnerships, Rotary works tirelessly to address the root causes of conflict — poverty, inequality, lack of education, and misunderstanding. By empowering young people to express their vision of peace, this competition aligns perfectly with Rotary’s mission to promote goodwill, advance understanding, and foster global harmony. Peace begins in our homes, our schools, our communities — and yes, even on a blank sheet of paper. When our youth are encouraged to reflect on peace, they become ambassadors of tolerance and unity. They learn that conflicts can be resolved not through anger, but through dialogue; not through division, but through collaboration”, President Elisa underscored.
She further expressed thanks to the parents, teachers, judges, Rotarians and sponsors who supported the initiative believing in the students and investing through various ways in their potential.
“To our judges, thank you all for taking the time to review and assess each poster with diligence in the quest to award outstanding work. To the winners: may this recognition encourage you to continue using your talents for positive change. And to all participants: you are already champions, because you dared to envision peace and share it with the world”, she added.
