The Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) has received a generous donation from the Rotary Club, which includes 36 laptops, 4 projectors, and 2 printers. The donation comes at a much-needed time as the institute prepares for the start of its new trimester, beginning April 14.
Executive Director Raynel Carroll expressed her gratitude, stating, “This donation is incredibly timely. With the Information Technology course coming up in the new trimester, we were a little concerned about our very limited supply of working laptops. Rotary’s support came just in time and gives us the ability to move forward with confidence.”
The Rotary Club of Antigua, through its Education Through Technology program and in collaboration with the Bellvue Breakfast Club, remains committed to advancing education across Antigua and Barbuda. During a recent presentation, Rotary Club President Sherrie-Ann Brazier and Director of Projects, Past President Paul Ryan, formally presented the donation to ABHTI. This contribution aims to enhance I.T classes and ensure that students are well-equipped for their studies.
The donation was made possible through funds raised from the annual Rotary Club of Antigua Colours Fete. Now in its 16th year, the highly anticipated event, themed “Colours of the Wild Wild West,” will take place on July 19, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the Coolidge Cricket Grounds. The Rotary Club of Antigua remains dedicated to empowering local communities through initiatives focused on education, health, and social development. 100% of the funds raised go directly toward supporting the club’s ongoing community projects.
Students at ABHTI will benefit significantly from this donation. As education continues to evolve in the digital age, access to modern technology is key to ensuring their success in both academics and the workforce.
