Rosewood Hotel Development in Barbuda Promises 400 Jobs by 2027
The $250 million USD Rosewood Hotel project in Barbuda is set to create 400 jobs upon completion and is being hailed as a transformative development for the island.
Senator Knacyntar Nedd expressed her enthusiasm during the 2025 budget debate, describing the project as a landmark opportunity for local residents.
“This project represents a significant milestone for Barbuda,” she said. “It will not only bring much-needed employment opportunities but also enhance the island’s appeal as a premier tourist destination.”
The hotel, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027, will employ 200 workers during the construction phase and 400 skilled and unskilled employees once operational.
Senator Nedd praised the developers for their commitment to working alongside the Barbuda Council and the community, describing their approach as mutually beneficial.
“This is more than just a hotel; it’s an opportunity to build a brighter future for Barbuda,” she said. “The developers are ready and willing to collaborate with the community, and I hope that the council will seize this opportunity to work together for the greater good.”
Senator Nedd also highlighted the government’s broader vision for Barbuda, which includes sustainable, low-density tourism developments that preserve the island’s natural environment while driving economic growth.
“This is a time for us to unite and embrace the opportunities before us,” she said. “The Rosewood Hotel is a testament to what we can achieve with collaboration and a shared vision for Barbuda’s future.”
The establishment will feature 50 resort suites and 35 Rosewood Residences.
