Robbery suspects charged

Two men who were held in police custody over the Whit Weekend on suspicion of robbery were jointly charged  on Wednesday with two counts of aggravated robbery; possession of an imitation firearm and carrying abroad an offensive weapon.

Wadabe Roberts of Villa and Patrice Christian of Fort Road were allegedly armed with a gun and a pair of scissors, when they robbed a resident of Villa and Yorks of an undisclosed sum of money and a mobile phone on Monday, 5th June.

They were later arrested on suspicion of robbery, when police found them inside a vehicle near Johnsons Playing Field with a number of items to include; an imitation firearm, a pair of scissors, a grey hoodie and a red bandanna in their possession.

They appeared in the St. Johns Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and were remanded to St. Johns Police Station pending further investigations.
