“I write to inform you that I am resigning from the position as President of the Antigua and
Barbuda Union of Teachers effective immediately.
I am honoured and humbled to have served as head of such a great organization
During my tenure, brief as it was, I think that I have brought value to the organization and to its members, and I will be forever appreciative of the prayers, support, encouragement and well-wishes I received throughout.
My heart and mind have always been focused on ways to Improve the well-being, health and safety of the members of the organization and to bring tangible benefits to them despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
I have always given my all to do what I thought was in the best interest of the membership.
I wish the A&BUT God’s blessings and guidance and will continue to support the union
Inasmuch as I am able.
Yours truly,
Kimdale Mackellar”

WoW ! Hiow sudden!
Incredible! Another victim of the covid crisis.
The story has just begun.
Who is next to fall?
The handwriting is on the wall?
Will the next man to fall please stand up. Not so fast, Mr. prime minister. You will fall, but you are being too anxious. Take your seat for a little while yet. Judgment shall come.
All that were done in the dark will be revealed in the light.
We can skip high and jump low: One truth is certain for all mankind is that it is appointed unto us to die once…then afterwards, the judgement shall come.
Have no fear if you stand on the righteous side. If you stand on the wrongteous side, then by all means you have much to be fearful for. There will be no escaping that day. We reap what we sow. The choices we make in this life will carry us into eternity or to death. There is no middle ground.
When will mankind learn.
WORLD “CRYSIS”: ONE DAY…I TELL YOU, ONE DAY: WE WILL FALL IF WE DO NOT STAND ON THE SIDE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Indication of a dysfunctional organization. The membership keeps being unable to find leadership that that will push its agenda. Time to reexamine expectations or disappointment will continue.
All the best to Kimdale, time to start posting them harsh jokes again via social media. The ones he has hidden since taking up the union presidency
As the old people say, “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.” When it’s time to go it’s time to go.
The problem is the Union are too much political. When you have 85% of your members vaccinated and you still go out to oppose the vaccine mandate, whose interest are you really serving? The 15%. Give me a break.
So why did they vote against the mandate? If 80%vaccinated. Didn’t the PM said the union head will have to go when the vote was completed
Why are you trying to spin what the PM said about the Union Head has to go. First of all he was talking about the AT&LU. As a politically aligned union he is calling on the members, who are predominantly ABLP members as well to replace the head as he believes they are not working in the interest of their members. And we see the same thing with the Teachers Union. The Chairman has no balls to stand up for what he believes is right and therefore he gives up. I have no respect for such men. They are cowards. Stand up and fight for what you believe in.
This is how unions operate – very anti-establishnent! They like to challenge and bully and make ridiculous demands.
Ashworth finally had enough of the puppeteering
Kimdale, we are living in a democratic society, hence it is your right to resign when it pleases you so to do. However, you need to accept & realize that you made a big error when you tendered your resignation. When serving people regardless of your position, you are accountable to them and not to yourself. As a result, an explanation should be given as to why you resigned… In my view it is disrespectful to the persons you had served.
Recall Tony Blair doing same after Brexit referendum. It best for something this fundamental that you leave since persons will claim you are stymieing progress. Best to have leadership who believes in your major cause
That was David Cameron not Tony Blair. Blair left power well before Brexit.
“Bloody Bloke” you are totally right on this one. We need leaders who will stick with it, no matter what happens. IF he can’t deal with it, perhaps it’s best for the Union that he simply throw in the towel. It’s a sad situation (for him in particular). I think we expected more. It’s sad.
