Renovations Continue At Old Holberton Hospital

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is continuing on its mission of rehabilitating structurally sound buildings for use.

 

Health Minister Molwyn Joseph announced that the Kitchen at the Old Holberton Hospital is currently being refurbished by a team from the Central Board of Health and the Ministry of Works to be used temporarily as a storeroom for the CBH..

Once the renovations are completed and the supplies moved to the new facility, major renovations will then begin on the Central Board of Health Building on Lower All Saints Road.

Minister Joseph also revealed that work will take place on the Laundry of the Old Holberton Hospital.

This is in addition to the Margetson Ward at the Holberton Hospital which has been already been commissioned as the Infectious Diseases Control Center. This will be used for care of individuals who test positive for Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health Headquarters on Lower High Street as well as the old Ministry of Education Building now the Central Board of Health Headquarters on Church Street are two of the other buildings the Ministry renovated with the assistance of the Ministry of Works within the last few years.

Minister Joseph thanked the Minister of Works, Lennox Weston as well as his staff for their continued support.

  1. Antigua and Barbuda is badly indeed of a DNA 20 years blue print.

    Making up stuff as we go along is costing much, there must be a better way to develop this country.

    First you occupy the place, then you do not maintain it then you abandon it, then you fix it, and the cycle repeats.

    Why is this a sensible approach when resources are limited? Right now DNA 20 years plan is looking like an option.
