Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries has opened registrations for the 2025 Christmas Home and Business Lighting Competition, inviting residents and business owners to take part in one of the nation’s longstanding festive traditions.

Forms are available until 17 December at the Department of Creative Industries on Old Parham Road and the National Festivals Office in St John’s. Pre-judging runs from 20–21 December, with final assessments on 28 December. Winners will be announced on Good Morning Antigua, Barbuda on 5 January.

Home entries will be judged across four zones—East, West, North and South—and participants will receive incentives including a full electricity waiver from 15 December to 15 January and duty-free concessions on lights and decorations. Cash prizes range from EC$1,000 to EC$3,000.

Businesses will benefit from a 50% electricity waiver for December, duty-free concessions and the same prize structure.

The competition aims to boost community spirit and showcase local creativity as the festive season approaches.
