Hon. Anthony Smith Jr, the current Member of Parliament for All Saints West (ASW), has recently resigned from the UPP.

Through his new alignment with the ABLP-led Government, ASW now not only has a dedicated Member of Parliament, but also a Minister in the Cabinet.
As a result, the ABLP ASW primary scheduled for August 29th, 2024, has been canceled.
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to the people for your steadfast support over the past six (6) months.

What a real man. As I said he is in it for the right reasons. But Lamin was in it for the wrong reason. Regis I expect you to give full support to NOW independent but certainly future comrade Anthony Smith. Together we will take ASW back into the fold of the ABLP. It’s all about the people of ASW and the ABLP
@Leave while you still can and maintain your INTEGRITY, legally and technically he’s not a member of the ABLP and he cannot be. If the UPP can prove he’s a member of the ABLP, i.e., membership application was sent and approved and membership card issued, then they can take the matter to court and force the seat to be vacated. Gaston is far smarter than that. Our constitution does not allow for crossing of the floor. Gaston knows that. Smith remains an Independent Member of the House who is ALIGNED to the ABLP Government as evident by his appointment to the ABLP Cabinet. There’s no mystery in that.
So you have two members on the Opposition side that are not members of the UPP, but they align themself to the party. And nothing wrong with that. Trevor Walker and Asot Michael to name them. But for Anthony Smith to do such is a great sin. Oh how hypocritic can we be on the Opposition side.

With all due respect, Regis statement is just intended to play it safe and to avoid any outward sign of animosity. There is much anger and hurt hidden behind those words.
Regis Burton, plain and simple, Gaston and the ABLP #shafted you with a stingray lance, so much so, that this letter sounds like it constipated you, and have you dancing on hot coals and broken glass!
Your statement(s) lend credence to the fact, that Politics is a #BLOOD_🩸_Sport and your contract(s) with political institutions are signed in blood_🅰️🅾️🩸🆎🅱️ at the altar on hallowed ground!

You must have a crystal ball or be a very good fortune teller to see of that in his response. But then again what else to expect from you. You do not come close of being a political analyst. Daren gives you some space to let your voice be heard and you think you are it. The one to watch how he would take it is Lamin. Because he had his eyes set on that seat. Now that door is closing on him and he will have to remain in the back ground while Smith is been brought in and jumped the line. What I think may happened before the next general election, is that a poll will be held to see which one of them still has the best change to win the seat for labour party.
See the difference? His chairman and partly leader couldn’t care less about his feelings; they expect him to just “suck it up” and that is exactly what he has done. He doesn’t show any sign of feeling abused by his chairman or his leader and we all know why. It’s because his party is in power and he stands to benefit either way. So stop the attack on UPP. All these people have left because the party is not in power and they feel they can benefit personally otherwise. That is the crux of the matter.
