Record Turnout: Over 700 Men Screened for Prostate Cancer Over the Weekend

The 16th Annual Prostate Screening took place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, as a Signature Service Project by the Lions Club.

Dr. Thwaites and his team screened 727 men. Registration opened at 7 a.m. with a $35 fee, followed by medical history intake, PSA blood tests at Bio Health Laboratory, and a doctor’s examination.

The Medical Benefit Scheme measured blood pressure and sugar levels, while the Antigua Falcons cricket team showcased their T-shirts and merchandise.

Lion President Kim Joseph highlighted that early detection saves lives and praised the Lions Club of Antigua for their role in cancer awareness. Men were encouraged to overcome fears and misconceptions about the screening.
