RISING STARS AND FAN FAVORITES SHINE AT ABTTA’S PRE-EASTER OPEN 2025
Record Participation Signals a Bright Future for Table Tennis in Antigua and Barbuda
The Antigua and Barbuda Table Tennis Association (ABTTA) served up pure energy and electrifying talent at the recently concluded Pre-Easter Open, held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025.
From intense rallies to stunning upsets, the tournament brought the table tennis community together in record-breaking fashion.
With 70 participants officially registered, this year’s edition marked the largest local table tennis event held in Antigua and Barbuda since the nation hosted the OECS Table Tennis Championships.
It was not only a resounding success but a bold signal that the sport is growing — and growing fast.
The event’s success strengthens ABTTA’s ongoing mission to build capacity, deepen talent, and position Antigua and Barbuda as a future host of both the OECS and Caribbean Championships.
The energy from this tournament proves that the local table tennis community is more than ready.

In a beautiful moment of synchronicity, the Pre-Easter Open also coincided with the birthday of ABTTA President, Charles “Chucky” Bellot.
The atmosphere buzzed with celebration as the table tennis family honored not only a successful event, but the dedicated leadership that has helped it flourish.
“To see the smiles, the energy, and the level of participation was the best birthday gift I could’ve asked for. It reminded me why we do what we do.” – Charles Bellot
WHAT’S NEXT?
Fresh off this milestone event, ABTTA is turning its attention to bigger goals — including continued youth development, strategic partnerships, and international representation at the CRTTF Caribbean U19 Championships in Barbados from April 20–26.
With momentum on its side, the Association is also working toward once again hosting regional giants like the OECS and Caribbean Championships in due course.

Well done Mr Bellot!
The table tennis fraternity in Antigua and Barbuda is definitely going positive places.
I do hope you use this success to uphold your duties as the former Commissioner of Scouts. As someone whose children support the scouting movement, we would love you to remember your agreement. Every resource that you still possess, is needed now that the Scouting Association have a headquarters. We look forward to your continued success, happy belated birthday, and we are confident going forward you will do the right things!
