A family who lost their home to a devastating fire is set to receive the keys to a brand-new house this week, thanks to a community-driven rebuilding initiative led by the Adoptafamily Ragguette programme.
The official handover is scheduled to take place in two days and will mark a major milestone in the family’s recovery journey.
According to organisers, the reconstruction project symbolises resilience and unity, following months of collaborative efforts.
In a public statement, Adoptafamily Ragguette expressed gratitude to key supporters who helped bring the project to completion.
These included Minister Maria Vanessa Browne, Minister Rawdon Turner, and Mary Baltimore, as well as the Social Protection Board.
Special recognition was also given to Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather for what was described as exemplary leadership. A team of skilled and dedicated inmates from Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) was instrumental in the rebuilding efforts.
“Their work speaks volumes,” the organisation said, noting the unique partnership that helped transform tragedy into hope.
The rebuilt home is being described as a beacon of what can be achieved when government, community leaders and rehabilitation initiatives work together toward a common goal.
Supporters and residents are being encouraged to stay tuned for the upcoming handover ceremony.
