Rashid Walker’s “Great and Mighty” Earns Grammy Consideration

Antiguan gospel artist Rashid Walker is once again in the Grammy conversation, with his latest single “Great and Mighty” officially submitted for consideration in two categories—Best Global Performance and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals—for the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

Walker announced the news in a Facebook post, expressing gratitude to the Recording Academy and to Grammy voting members for the opportunity. “I am deeply humbled and honoured for another opportunity to share my music with you,” he wrote.

The song, inspired by Revelation 7:9, explores the question of what praise and worship music might sound like from a Caribbean perspective. “In God’s Kingdom representation still matters,” Walker noted, explaining that “Great and Mighty” was written as an answer to that spiritual inquiry.

He extended special thanks to his collaborators, including producer Mahli Benjamin and steelpan musician Amarni Gomes, both fellow Antiguans who are also credited for Grammy consideration in the arrangement category.

Walker’s nomination adds to the growing recognition of Caribbean gospel artistry on the international stage.
