Rai Benjamin and Team Wrap Up Training Camp in Antigua

Ambassador Rai Benjamin and his elite training group concluded a week-long training camp in Antigua on Sunday, marking the final session of their preparations for the 2025 Track and Field season.

The camp, which brought a professional edge to the island’s sporting scene, was hailed as a success.

The team, including standout athletes Jasmine Jones, Raven Rogers, Shae Anderson, Kendall Ellis, Vernon Norwood, and Cejhae Greene, as well as renowned coach Joanna Hayes, departed Antigua on Tuesday.

The Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association (ABAA) expressed gratitude for their presence and contributions to local athletics, describing the camp as an inspiration to aspiring athletes.

Plans are underway for the group to return later this year for an extended training camp, potentially featuring more athletes.

The ABAA extended best wishes to the team for the upcoming season, eagerly anticipating their return to Antigua.

  1. I think it was a great opportunity for young kids and local athletes. A pity the government or I should say the sporting association couldn’t raise the bar on how to make this a success. I hope Rai returns with his colleagues

  2. It would have been nice to have seen a photo of the local participant(s) engaged in this week-long training camp and perhaps even to have heard from him/her/them on benefits gained.
