Will the Boland’s shooting finally bring real police accountability in Antigua and Barbuda?

Question of the Day:
When investigations into police shootings drag on in silence, can the public still trust the justice system to deliver answers?

Would you like me to draft a few alternative versions with different tones—one more hard-hitting, one more reflective, and one more neutral—so you can choose?

  1. Sometimes we have to give and take. The police in Antigua and Barbuda are very limitted in what they say to the public but I know for a fact they whisper to their dons and divas. They tell their friends and when they gather to drink in rum shops they chat plenty. I dont expect them to tell the public things that can affect the cases but honestly there is a lack of information and arrogance where police matters is concerned.

  2. Absolutely no one is perfect but to shoot a young man down like that. What would have happened, had there been no witnesses. #CRUELTY

And Bowl Face say, wan likkle man tell he, wen u kno no, U jus no kno.

I’m optimistic, that we’ll see some differences in law enforcement tactics, (positive), in the not too distant future. As one, who have observed and interacted with law enforcement from a Pan African, Rasta, Street, Library/formal learning institution perspective, I will admit, that since dealing with the Southern United States from the 1970’ and their cultures to Northern and Western States, in the same way; of course, Antigua with its “ISMS, SKISMS,” I will admit, being a law enforcement officer is not a cake walk.
Yes, it’s known from research and history, that the the Transatlantic Slave Trade played a significant role in developing some of today’s law enforcement tactics, however, it goes beyond those moments in HUEman history and development, as it pertains to TODAYS LIVING!

One thing is certain, it is not just the attitude of law enforcement officers MUST change. The attitude of the public MUST change as well. PERIOD!
And, when I say PUBLIC, I’m gonna keep heating the drum to the same tune. It must begin with those at the helm. The parliament (policy makers), the Religious Indoctrinators (stop the FAKING and get to real & true emancipating)! The family, this one is very complicated these days. The family, the elders/ancients to those in the womb is not as cohesive and coherent, at other times in our developmental.
The point is, it’s not just about having a two parent household! It’s about the IT TAKES A VILLAGE!

Folks it’s complicated. However, again I’m optimistic that things will get better. They’re gonna have to. The place is too small and interconnected, to become even more fragmented. The PUBLIC and Law Enforcement have work to do.

  4. Didn’t the Minister of Justice say the police acted professionally and prudently so what fault do you expect them to find
