QUESTION: Should Owners Be Charged After Dog Attacks?

12

Question of the Day:
After the brutal dog attack that left 27-year-old Shabu Nedwell severely injured, Antigua and Barbuda is once again debating responsibility. Should the owner of the pitbulls face criminal charges — or should the focus be on putting down dangerous dogs to prevent future attacks?
Who bears the blame — the dogs, their owner, or the system that allows this to keep happening?

  1. Strongly, I believe the dogs should be killed or taken away. Having the owners paid doesn’t really make a difference. The dogs will still be on the property and the possibility of it happening again. This young woman could’ve lost her life

  2. Your answer is yes family or family not..charge she yes she kniw the dog capable of such brutality people talk to she bout it..now look wa she cause foe happen charge she ass

  3. Your answer is yes family or family not..charge she yes she knew what the dog was capable of, such brutality people talk to she bout it..now look wa she cause for happen charge she ass

  4. The dogs should be put down point blank! The owner didn’t bite anyone. They should also pay a fine and/or cover medical bills

  5. I like the way you guys make video stories on the issues of the day. Keep up the good work. The dogs should die. It almost killed this beatuiful girl. Dogs have no soul. They are better off dead in my view

  6. It’s really up to dog owners to secure their animals such that they do not hurt or injure others. Dog owners are liable for the action of their animals and they should be prosecuted. If it is determined that the dogs are an ongoing and continued risk then they should be put to sleep.

  7. Sure!Trust me, they did it once, they’ll do it again and it could be detrimental. Once they taste blood they’ll attack again. Kill them!
I also think that all expenses should be covered by the owner and she should be sued for illegal activity period!

  8. Facts:
1- Dogs was inside owner house and between the boundary line of her property.
2- The Girls who was attacked was aware for long time how dangerous those dogs are.
3- The owner of the Dogs also knows how dangerous they are also, she should prevent at all cost this kind of situation by: Refusing to take visitors or Securing the dogs inside a Room or some area inside her property.
3- The owner should be paid for the medical expenses.
4- But VERY IMPORTANT: If someone keep and aggressive Dogs inside their property, and someone without invitation go inside the border line of the property where the dogs are, the owner NEVER should be liable of any Damage. KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF OTHERS PRIVATE PROPERTY. FAFO.
5- If some Aggressive Dogs escape the border line because was not secure enough, the Owner then is liable of any DAMAGE those dogs made.

  9. Strongly believe there are no bad dogs but bad owners. Dogs should be restrained to prevent attacks. But also call people before you go them yard especially if you know they have dogs.
The owners should face criminal charges. But the dogs are just being dogs.
