Question of the Day:
With political dynamics shifting rapidly, when might the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) realistically face the question of leadership succession? Could contenders like Chet Greene, Maria Browne, or even rising figures such as Michael Joseph or Anthony Smith be the ones to lead the party into the future—or will Prime Minister Gaston Browne maintain his grip on power well into the next decade?

If you think Gaston is going to relinquish his grip on power, think again! Power is his passion! Only sickness or death will let him leave!
Not Chet, that’s for sure. Remember the scandals when he was head of football in Antigua? Him and his buddy, Jack Warner? I vote for Daryl Matthew.
Leadership change in the ALP is possible only through an insurrection. The Prime Minister has warned that none of his subordinates should ever even entertain such an idea. But who in the organization would be so bold to make such a challenge?
Here are Brixtonian’s leadership odds:
Chet Greene 1/5 (clear favourite)
Melford Nicholas 7/2 (outside chance)
Daryl Matthew’s 6/1 (value fallen)
Steadroy Benjamin 10/1 (no substance)
Max Fernández 20/1 (Airlines fiasco)
Lionel Hurst 50/1 (Nikki Phoenix🤣)
Molwyn Joseph 250/1 (AstraZeneca💉)
Maria Browne 10000/1 (🤣🤣🤣🤣)
As you can see my fellow Antiguans, Chet Greene is the out and out clear favourite to depose and remove Gaston Browne. And if I was a betting man (which I’m not) Melford Nicholas would be an outside choice.
However, who ever takes over as leader is only keeping the seat warm for the Most Honourable and Ultrasonic (😉) Jamale Pringle of the UPP.
