EMS have depreciated drastically. They need to be more appreciated.
The question is why have they depreciated:
1. Police drives around with blue lights were there is no emergency or crime. that needs to stop. if they want to show presence, show presence in a normal effective way. Be there, help people, enforce rules.
2. Politician do it to beat traffic. I understand when their are high diplomats and persons of high public interest need protection. It should be used less.
I don’t understand Antigua people if these stories are true name the person, after all they’re public servant if your story is true they can’t do nothing to you.Name the person.
Good morning public,
Well somebody bones got burn here, I say this because, it is a long time this abuse, has been going on in the system and and all the oppotents knows about this. It is also in the EMS of itself,so the system needs to revamp and get things in order because if the top is bad, so is the middle and bottom, And I want to be honest, their are political devides in the system of itself, this is why when some not getting their way with things, that the time they see all the faults of other people right where they are, be carefully what you ask for and leave yourself out in system, because knock back harder the first blow fired and that is all I am saying, be fair first in everything you,not because you may like or have your way ,only there and then you raise hell about the system and things.
An immediate investigation is warranted into this alleged abuse by politicians and others, including family members and personal friends of EMS personnel as has been whispered by certain EMS workers in the past. The Ministers responsible for Health, Finance and Social Transformation need to initiate such an investigation asap.
Here are some easy suggestions:
1. The system gets abused because there is no other transportation available for persons who are immobile persons who are in need of special attention and assistance so fixing that could be a way of stopping to abuse.
2. They abuse because the hospital gets abused! not enough utilizing the benefits of clinics. The clinics themselves don’t have doctors majority of the time they have one district doctor for five clinics does not make any sense so people just don’t waste your time going there. They call the system to help them get there.
3. Creating another system that would do the same things as the EMS, but in a smaller motion, such as providing immediate medical assistance for persons who go to the hospital for minor issues and they provide care at the cost I assume.
The harder things to do:
1. Allow that job to be something that people want to do so that you can have more persons on staff and not overwork the system as it is the vehicles need to be maintained so that they don’t have to be going back-and-forth with the same four vehicles.
2. Put a bit more pressure on the public healthcare minister system for doctors paid well and incentive to be available so that they can provide the public with more care and the realization that the EMS would show up for clinical visits within certain hours morning time.
3. Putting a timeframe on when they are able to be called privately in the sense of an emergency whatever that means or putting medical persons on call for those reasons so they can assess the situation prior to calling the EMS..
