Puerto Rican police confirmed they have found a body which they suspect might be that of missing American tourist, Amanda Lynn Webster.
Members of a search party found the body on Saturday in a river near the Rio Blanco neighbourhood.
In a statement yesterday, police said it was not possible to identify the gender of the body or conclude if it shows signs of violence.
However, Webster’s mother posted on Facebook that the body found was her daughter.
Police have begun the formal process to confirm whether the body is that of the missing woman.
Webster has missing since October 11.
Webster was reported missing by the owner of her rental property after she did not carry out the exit process.
Her belongings and a rental car were all left on the property.
The 44-year-old was a resident of Indianapolis and a teacher at the Thompson Elementary School.
