PM: Public Servants to Receive Early Salaries Next Week, Second December Payment for Back Pay
Prime Minister Gaston Browne says public servants will receive their December salaries early next week, followed by a second payment later in the month that will count toward outstanding back pay.
Responding to questions during the call-in segment of the Browne and Browne show on Pointe FM, Browne said workers would be paid early, telling listeners they would receive their salaries “probably by maybe next weekend.”
He added that before the end of the month, public servants will receive “yet another pay,” which will be applied to retroactive back pay owed by the government.
“After that second salary, which would count as back pay, the government would have spent about $100 million paying back pay to civil servants,” Browne said.
The prime minister said the payments form part of the government’s ongoing effort to clear arrears owed to public-sector workers, including obligations accumulated during previous periods, while still meeting regular payroll commitments.

What about pensioners who was working between 2018 to 2020

The last set of two back pays, I never receive any. I hope this time around they will locate my file and pay me all my back pay. Am waiting patiently.
Frustrated as well
The last time the extre month salary was paid pensioners were told that their amounts would be calculated and they would be paid afterwards. We haven’t received one red cent up to now. What is going to happen to pensiothis time around. We are due back pay too.pensioners are crying out for fair treatment.
Its like they waiting for pensioners to die so they don’t have to pay. We need our money just like everyone else. I can’t see why we have a different payroll when it comes to back pay. If the ppl in the ministry that you worked last get their money why you have to wait. What is so hard …isn’t it the same payment that you were working for when you were in active duty. What different kind of working out is there to do. Plz pay pensioners them money this is really over doing it now

…correct me if I am wrong. Isn’t that when public servants ALWAYS get paid? So what’s the whole “receiving December salary early jump up about?” Give me a darm aspirin. Why wasn’t it paid like this week December 15 to 18th…..then we would be grateful and then monthend we get the backpay. Then I would give you a WHOLE ROUND OF APPLAUSE. Until then go SIT DUNG and do some work FOR US.
Back pay from what period? Shed some light so the ineligible know themselves.
Exactly… Some people will go spend all the first salary expecting that they would get something in the second and not get any…
