Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. Chenelle Joseph is urging Antigua and Barbuda legislators to consider restrictions on social media for certain age groups, citing global concerns about children’s over-exposure.

Drawing on discussions in Australia, where an age verification trial is planned, she emphasized the need to limit children’s access to harmful content.

Dr. Joseph also advocated for mandatory mental health evaluations for gun license applicants, as a preventative measure despite low suicide rates by firearm in the country.
