Prostate Cancer Prevention Focuses on Lifestyle and Regular Checkups

0

Prominent Urologist Dr. Dwayne “Baba” Thwaites underscores the significance of healthy lifestyle choices, including balanced eating, regular physical activity, and frequent ejaculations, to minimize prostate cancer risks.

Collaborating with the Lions Club of Antigua and healthcare professionals, Dr. Thwaites organized an annual prostate cancer screening event, drawing 805 to 820 men this year.

He highlights the 15-year program’s positive impact and emphasizes the heightened awareness of prostate cancer’s link to ethnicity, age (55-65), and genetics.

Thwaites also discusses the interrelation between breast and prostate cancer, explaining that BRCA2 gene presence elevates risks in both genders.
