  1. Dis ya ah one SET UP! Who nuh like the man? Wha he do aryu? This was control by BIG heads who did someone a favor. PLANTS?!!!! For that amount? Only in Antigua you find people try badmind nerga wid dem power!

  2. The law is the law indeed but this ya very suspicious. The young man have his plants at his house, no his property and POLICE just suddenly decided to go there? How much is a person allowed again? Haha please

  3. I feel sorry for the Garys Farm and Ghetto youths.
They often spend days in the shitty cell at St Johns Police Station before securing bail for far less than this lawyer and her brother were arrested and charged.
When they appear in court their sentences are way way harsher than this brother received for less than he possessed.
30 plus trees, hundreds of grams?
How did the two secure bail?.
Did they attend to court or did the man responsible just call wherever they were and give bail conditions?
Did someone call and have a quiet word with the court official?
Why was the charge against the lawyer withdrawn?
Didn’t the police photograph the soldier lawyer putting plants into her vehicle?
How long had she been under surveillance?
If that’s the case why was the case withdrawn against her?
Who in Antigua has the authority to withdraw criminal charges in the court?
    Was that person influenced?
Was it done in an attempt to preserve the reputation and profession of the lawyer and the profession on a whole?
Is the legal fraternity protecting each other involved in criminal activity and crucifying ghetto youths?
Will the lawyer be transferred from the ABDF to another government department since she has not secured a conviction?
So the brother sacrificed his all for his junior sister who was called to the bar just a little over a year ago.
Is acting appointment being used a means of manipulating public servants and especially in the judiciary?
How insulated is our court system?

  4. Shanice, if it was swept under the rug I doubt it would have been out of the open. Nothing was as such. Smaddy SET UP the youth man for plants? Seems like a jealous person who had the help of hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  5. The fact that growing a few plants can still land you in jail says a lot about how behind we are. Time to modernize the law. we need a Cannabis Reform

  6. Nerga do worse than this and what arwe hear? Some of the comments under here seem a bit PERSONAL ..

  7. I know this guy, sensible and well mannered. I know for sure this was done out of spite.

  9. This law is both nonsensical and hypocritical. We openly promote medical marijuana then we prosecute users who grows a few trees for their own use…..not for sale or trafficking. Does that make sense? Each person is allowed by law 4 trees but when you find a yard with 7 trees you arrest two persons as if they did something wrong. One owns 4 and the next 3. We continue to criminalize and demonize people and practically ruin their reputation and career for rubbish.

  10. Antigua News Room can you get your stories straight? You’re a little excited to share news we know but take your time. We need to know exactly what the NEWS is..

  11. 15g and 4 plants is the legal amount. The question that need answering is….where am I to get the 15g and 4 plants from? Is there a legal outlet somewhere in 108?

  12. When I first heard the news thinking it was a whole lot but I just can’t believe the street value now a man going to loose his immigration job because he was found guilty this is bs 😞 antigua news room also too love run with people business right away 😡😡😡

  13. The magistrate would never fine a man for 2.3 grams of cannabis and if he had 4 plants in his possession. The legal amount to have is 15 grams and 4 plants. If the magistrate fined him, it simple means he had more than 2.3 grams and 4 plants. People must stop support wrong doing. We cannot kick against the Law. The Drug is decriminalized and not Legalized. If two persons are charged for a specific offence, and one out of the two decided to take the rap, it is Legal to drop the charge or charges against the other. If the man say the Drug is mines and my sister have nothing to do with it, what you expect the magistrate to do but to withdraw the charge against the female. Nothing is illegal in doing that. People in this country select who they want to support and who they want to bash. As I always say, ANR is an agent for broadcasting false news. They don’t investigate before they run their mouth.
