The Privy Council in London will soon announce its decision on Barbuda’s airport construction.
The verdict will be streamed live at 7am local time, followed by a 2pm debriefing session on Zoom hosted by GLAN. Campaigners plan to celebrate the resilience of John Mussington and Jackie Frank, aiming to inspire others to resist harmful developments.
The case concerns wildlife habitat destruction and cultural disregard. Many Barbudans oppose selling land to foreign developers.
The government argues the airport is vital for the economy, expressing confidence that the case won’t hinder its plans. The airport’s opening is weeks away pending final approvals.

Take a page Antiguans. This is just the beginning for these two heroic Barbudans.
Winning don’t come easy. Barbudans will prevail.
Fights are won in the legal battlefield. Not on the Radio, or in commentary.
I do really admire the fighting spirit of the Barbudan’s. They always fight the good fight when it involves protecting their land rights, citizens rights, and trying to ensure that Barbuda doesn’t become a rich man’s playground.
If we Antiguans had a smidgen of your combativeness and belligerence we would be in a better place.
White monopoly capital domination will be respected, in other words white property, the whites go to war to steal lands and resources, they will just say it’s probably bad to break down some mangrove branches because some birds sit on it, they will love the wild life than the black people of Barbuda. But will not interfere with white enrichment.
